THE ADVENTURE BEGINS with our highly experienced informative and skilled tour guide/driver/cook who has many years conducting 4WD eco-tours telling entertaining stories and tall tales.
  • Early morning departure from the Sunshine Coast – maybe catch a “glorious sun rising” over the ocean.
  • Cable ferry river crossing to 40 mile beach, “the Southern Gateway” to Cooloola Recreation Area, Fraser Island and Great Sandy National Park”
  • See Rainbow Coloured Sands, Double Island Point and beautiful Wide Bay
  • Another Ferry Crossing (drive on/drive off) over The Great Sandy Strait to the southern tip of “World Heritage” Fraser Island
  • 75 Mile Beach – Nature’s seemingly endless golden highway. It’s a superb surf beach flanked by the beautiful Coral Sea
  • Travel along narrow inland 4WD Sand Tracks though heathlands and towering hardwood forests to our destination......crystal clear picturesque Lake Birrabeen
  • Explore Central Station, an old forestry station surrounded by magnificent rainforests. A multitude of luxuriant palms, cycads, ferns and hanging vine, piccabeen, macrozamia, angiopteris evecta and strangler figs. There’s time to casually stroll along Wanggoolba Creek boardwalks and marvel at the beauty, variety and lushness.
  • Lunch is a delicious “Aussie Style Bush Barbecue” – There’s a choice of steak, fish, vegetarian patty or sausages all served with an assortment of fresh salads and fruit. Complimentary beer, wine & soft drinks.

The Natural Beauty of Fraser Island

Day Two:refreshed and ready for more!

Refuelled, refreshed and ready for action – there’s plenty more to see and do on this intriguing, unique sand island.

  • We travel from the West Coast to the East Coast along some rather rough inland 4WD tracks.
  • Northward along the beach our next stop is Eli Creek a popular swimming and picnic spot. This swift flowing stream pours an incredible 80-100 million litres of clear fresh water into the ocean every day.
  • On the beach see a “permanent” fixture – the shipwreck of the SS Maheno (1935) a former New Zealand passenger ship and also troop hospital ship during WW1.
  • The Pinnacles Coloured Sands Cliffs are impressive – up to 72 different colours, shades or hues – a spectacular array.
  • This area is of significant importance to the local Aboriginal Badtjala (Butchulla) People.
  • Our Picnic Lunch is a delicious selection of cold cuts/meats/cheese with fresh salads and with fruit juice and soft drinks. A welcome casual break in the fresh sea air.
  • You’ll see Indian Head a distinctive rocky outcrop with a panoramic viewpoint from the headland. We may spot stingrays, sharks, dolphins and sea turtles.
  • After our return ferry trip to the mainland, we have a short stop at Rainbow Beach Township.
  • Homeward bound we pass the pine forests of Toolara and the Cooloola Recreation Area.
  • After a wonderful experience, expect to be back in Noosa at approximately 5pm.
