The good reviews just keep coming in! Thank you to our wonderful passengers for taking the time to write to us. Below are a few guest reviews we received recently via email, however check out Trip Advisor for loads more!
“We would just like to pass on our thanks for making our Fraser Island visit so enjoyable. The organisation of the tour was well structured including the efficiency of pick up and drop off of passengers and consideration of enough time spent at each location on the Island. The food was above expectation and special thanks should be passed onto Rob. Rob is an exceptional tour guide. The information he shared was clear, concise and above all, interesting. His communication style created a relaxed mood and an enjoyable learning experience.
We have taken part in many tours previously and this tour was by far the most enjoyable. Thank you for making our Fraser Island experience so memorable.
Regards, Renee & Janine” (10 July 2014).
“We just wanted to let you know what a fantastic day we had today on your
tour. Greg was a terrific driver and host. To have morning tea, afternoon
tea and a delicious lunch all supplied we think is great value for money.
We will have no hesitation in recommending you to our friends and family.
Thank you again.
Kind regards, Dianna, Craig & Kate” (2 July 2014).
“My wife Lynette and I would like to say thank you regarding our nature tour
we went on the 16th of June 2014 with your driver Rob. We had the best day possible as Rob was very informative and a great host. It was the main highlight of our trip to Noosa and we will highly recommend your company to all of our friends and family and will definitely be back for another tour next time we are here again. Thanks for the great lunch and the glass of wine was an added bonus. We met people from all over the world which added to the most fantastic day. Thanks again.
Ray and Lynette” (16 June 2014).
“We would like to compliment your company for the wonderful day we had on one of your Getaway tours recently. We would both particularly like to praise our tour guide/driver, Casey, for his professionalism, competence, patience and sense of humour. He was very informative too with an extensive knowledge of the area and its flora and fauna. Lunch was delicious and we were very fortunate to be blessed with a beautiful day! We would certainly recommend your company to others.
Kind regards, Jennie and John” (1 July 2014).
A passenger named Jillian Phillips recently went on our day tour to Fraser Island and said she enjoyed the trip down memory lane from her visit to the island in 1979.
Jillian reviewed our driver Casey, stating “Casey was an interesting and informative tour guide, highly organised chef and a wealth of information with regards to all things Fraser; very easy to listen too and delivered just the right amount of information, facts and figures along the way. A totally enjoyable day was shared by everyone.”
She was also kind enough to share these few photos from her trip to Fraser Island in 1979. They drove in a open 4×4 vehicle and had the canvas sides rolled up for the majority of the time. They had six people sitting in the back tray on bean bags! Oh, how times have changed!

We recently took a fantastic group of 40 students from the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) to Fraser Island. A little different to our usual day trips, the tour spanned three days and two nights. The group stayed at the USC’s Dilli Village facility on Fraser Island, with all of the catering done by Fraser Island Adventure Tours.
USC plans to organise several tours for their international students and leadership camps. There are 500 students in total who hope to explore Fraser Island with us. Ingo, a passenger on the March group tour was kind enough to send these great photos to us. More photos can be seen on our Facebook page. Thank you Ingo!
The next tour is being held on Friday 4th of April and we are excited to show the students around the world heritage listed destination that is Fraser Island!

From 1 March – 30 June 2014, visitors to Fraser Island need to exercise extra caution due to dingo mating season.
What does dingo mating season mean? The Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport and Racing explains below:
- Increased dingo activity therefore a higher chance of dingo-human interaction.
- A higher frequency of threatening dingo packs.
- Dominance testing behaviour – often misinterpreted as ‘playing’.
- Other unpredictable behaviour including boisterous and nervous actions.
- More howling at night.
- Last year’s pups being forced to find their own territory, possibly hiding from more dominant dingoes, and to find their own food.
Our tour guides put your safety as their highest priority, however you must be careful. Click here to read our dingo safety advice.
More information about dingo mating season can be found here.
We are happy to announce that the amendments to the the Liquor and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2013 has now changed and we are once again permitted to offer passengers complimentary beer and wine with lunch.
Our first day was the 2nd of February and our passengers enjoyed a nice beverage with lunch at Lake McKenzie. Nothing better than a cold beer by the lake in Summer!
We recently had a question from a passenger about snakes on Fraser Island. The passenger asked “are we likely to see any snakes? I have a horrendous phobia of them, and you definitely don’t want to be there if I see one!”
For those of you who are interested, sometimes we may see a sea snake which is washed up on the beach but not very often. We cannot remember the last time any of our passengers came upon a snake while off the bus – they tend to keep their distance. As Fraser Island is a sand island, vibrations pass along the ground relatively easily. As a result, snakes tend hear our passengers coming a lot earlier and tend to be gone by the time people get near their location. No need for you to worry, our Driver’s are very knowledgable about the local wildlife!
Robyn and Mark and the entire team at Fraser Island Adventure Tours would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas.
We have had a great past year and would like to thank all of our lovely booking agents and passengers alike for your support.
We wish everyone a safe and fun holiday break and an opportunity to enjoy the beauty that Fraser Island and the Sunshine Coast has to offer.
The upcoming summer holiday season means that dingo-human interactions are expected to increase on Fraser Island. We urge not only our day tour passengers but ALL tourists to Fraser Island to follow the dingo safety advice provided below:
- Always stay close (within arms reach) to your children
- Walk in groups
- NEVER feed dingoes
- Lock up food stores and iceboxes
- Never store food or food containers in tents
- Secure all rubbish
- Secure all fish and bait.

Good news for Fraser Island Adventure Tours as new liquor legislation is passed by Parliament. The announcement was made on the 20th of November 2013. The amendments to the the Liquor and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2013, are to commence within the next few weeks and one of the changes now allows an exemption for tour operators to supply liquor to patrons. This means we able to offer beer and wine to our passengers once again, as we had previously for the last 26 years of operation. Stay tuned to find out what date we will begin providing the alcohol on tour again.
