Fraser Island Tours – Liquor Licence crackdown

After 25 years, The Queensland Justice Department, Office of Liquor and Gaming has advised us to cease supplying a “complimentary” beer or wine with our barbecue lunch on our Fraser Island Tours. Apparently, it is deemed as selling alcohol without a licence and many Queensland tour operators have been advised to cease the practise.  A maximum penalty of $55,000 applies, so needless to say we have stopped!

Unfortunately, we cannot licence a tour bus or a national park but are working on getting an off premises liquor license.   We are currently applying for a liquor licence but this will take time so in meantime passengers on our tour can BYO alcohol to Fraser Island.  We have an esky with ice in the back of the truck for this purpose.  We will continue to supply soft drinks in the ticket price.
